Scleroderma Event Update

March 16th, 2020

The health and safety of every person affected by scleroderma is of vital importance to Scleroderma Victoria Incorporated. Our Committee takes very seriously the threat the coronavirus presents to individuals living with scleroderma, who are of course immunocompromised and vulnerable with the current escalation of COVID-19 in our community.

As such, Scleroderma Victoria have cancelled all support group meetings until at least May 1st. With the continually changing environment we will continue to evaluate the situation to update our events that will take place in the future, at which time we will make adjustments as necessary under the directives of federal and state government and health departments. It would be wise to keep up to date by accessing the Australian Department of Health website or call 1800 020 080.

For more information please see our News Section of the website.

Your sincerely

Amanda Lawrie-Jones

President – Scleroderma Victoria

Scleroderma Australia Website Launch

May 27th, 2020

Have you ever wondered about the role of Scleroderma Australia versus what the State Organisations do? This is your chance to find out!

On June 29, the world’s scleroderma community comes together to recognize World Scleroderma Day. On this day in 1940, internationally renowned Swiss painter Paul Klee passed away. He had scleroderma and his artwork was widely influenced by his experience with the condition. Across the globe, it is known that the month of June is also recognized, and this is when many fund-raisers and awareness campaigns take place.

With limited capability to hold events due to COVID19, Scleroderma Australia will be commemorating World Scleroderma Awareness month by launching our new and fresh website to provide assistance to our scleroderma community with plenty of resources and connections.

We will be holding several online sessions for you to Meet our Committee and have the opportunity to connect with you and show you the exciting new changes to our website and provide you with information on what both Scleroderma Australia and the State Associations do.

There will be many different online sessions held, with our own Scleroderma Victoria Committee members being online on June 1, June 9, June 16 and June 26!
