Kerry and her husband Kevin began working on a plan, in partnership with the Bendigo and Seymour Scleroderma groups, to help others by setting up a fund for a portable oxygen concentrator. The concentrator was to be loaned out to Scleroderma patients who were in need this extra help to get out and about. Kerry, badly affected by fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension, knew firsthand the restrictions placed on her by the Governments limit of 6 x O2 bottles per calendar month. Extras could be bought, but were very expensive.
Scleroderma Victoria have continued this great work and are able to provide support to our members with the use of portable oxygen concentrators. More information can be found in our Loan Agreement Summary, or by contacting a Scleroderma Clinical nurse.
If you would like to donate to the Kerry McDonald Equipment fund to provide further support to our members, please select this option on our donate online form or contact our office on 03 9231 3651 for further information.
